Liraglutide is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist approved as a prescription medication for type 2 diabetes and obesity, used in metabolic research.
What it is
Liraglutide shares 97% sequence homology with native human GLP-1 and is acylated with a C-16 fatty acid enabling albumin binding and a half-life of approximately 13 hours, suited to once-daily subcutaneous injection. It is marketed as Victoza (diabetes) and Saxenda (weight management). For research use only. Not for human use.
