EPO

Erythropoietin (EPO) is a glycoprotein hormone that regulates erythropoiesis in the bone marrow and is investigated for its role in anemia research and neuroprotection.

What it is

EPO is produced primarily in the kidneys in response to hypoxia and stimulates red blood cell production. Beyond its classical hematopoietic function, preclinical evidence supports neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects via non-hematopoietic EPO receptors. For research use only. Not for human use.
