Bacteriostatic Water
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which inhibits bacterial growth and is used for reconstitution of lyophilised peptides.
What it is
The benzyl alcohol content provides anti-microbial activity in multi-dose vials and extends the shelf life of reconstituted solutions compared to sterile water alone. It is the standard reconstitution vehicle for peptides for parenteral use in research settings. For research use only. Not for human use.
